Relicensing Process

Overview

On July 12, 1962, the Federal Power Commission, now known as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), issued Douglas PUD a 50-year license to operate the Wells Project. The FERC license for the project expires on May 31, 2012. An application for the new license must be filed on or before May 31, 2010. This FERC license application process is referred to as relicensing. Douglas PUD is currently pursuing a new operating license through FERC’s Integrated Licensing Process (ILP).
